38. CONTINUED:
JEFF:
Bob. When we left the Committee Building, Corey and
Greg jumped us in the parking lot, and made off with
Joan. I couldn't stop them, but I'm following them
on highway fifteen.
BOB:
Do you want me to take out after you, or try to cut
‘em off?
JEFF:
No, it might be a trap to get the Professor, or the
plans. Stay by the radio, and listen in. I'll keep
you posted on the route.
BOB:
Okay, but be careful!
Jeff leaves the mike on the seat and continues driving hard.
JEFF: (yelling down into mike on seat)
Bob! They're firing at me to keep me back. We're still
on fifteen and working up into the hills. We should.....
Jeff is cut short when a tire blows, and he seizes the wheel in
a desperate attempt to keep control of the car. He reacts in
horror at the impending crash, opens his door and drops O.S.
39. INT. WAYNE'S OFFICE: CLOSE FULL
On the radio with Jeff's opening lines COMING OVER as Bob
enters and replies. Bob listens to the sound of the chase COME
OVER and reacts as he hears the crash. He calls into the
microphone:
BOB:
Jeff! What happened? Are you alright? Jeff? Jeff?
40. EXT. HIGHWAY #4: MEDIUM CLOSE (INT. HEAVIES' CAR #2)
PROCESS OR WIDE ANGLE TAKING IN FRONT AND REAR DOOR WINDOWS.
The Raven is seated in back with Joan in B.G. and Greg drives
with Corey nearest CAMERA in front seat.
