21. CONTINUED:
Just then the radio, which has been playing softly all through
the background of scenes in the office, interrupts its soft
music with an announcer's voice.
RADIO ANNOUNCER'S VOICE:
We interrupt this program for a startling news flash.
The mayor has just received a message from The Raven,
infamous master criminal who has had this state
terrorized for months. The Raven demands that the
city pay him fifty million dollars by six o'clock today
or he will destroy it. To prove he can carry out his
threat, he will destroy the Davis Building at five
o'clock. The mayor has ordered the building evacuated
at once.
JOAN:
Here's our chance, Bob. Let's drive to the Davis
Building. Then we can get a direct line on the impulses
and trace them faster. And don't try to get rid of me.
I stay to the finish this time.
BOB:
Okay. Let’s go. They rush out of the office.

Mayor, even the Governor will agree to my terms.
