#1001 EP. 1-12.
42. CONTINUED:
PROFESSOR PARKER:
You may be right at that, Bob. What would you suggest?
BOB:
Well, just in case it is them, I think it would be
best if I kept your plans for the control cell in my
office safe until after the test. Then we can hand
them directly to the government.
PROFESSOR PARKER:
I'd appreciate that, Bob. You can pick them up this
evening, if you like. I have them at my apartment.
BOB:
Alright, I'll see you tonight. Goodbye.
Bob hangs up the phone and rises from his chair. He looks
at the hood on the desk again, then places it in his inside
jacket pocket.
43. INT. PROFESSOR PARKER'S APARTMENT: CLOSE FULL
COVER CUT of Parker for his end of conversation.
44. INSERT: CLOSE
On Bob's hand placing items on desk. ONE CUT OF EACH.
45. INSERT: CLOSE
On the letter, which reads:
Son: Before you were born, a vicious crime wave struck
this city. Governor Bronson, who raised me, was a victim
of this gang, headed by a scientific madman. Before he
died, he told me who my real father was. Before the turn
of the century my father donned the hood you see before
you, masking his identity to rid the land of criminals
whom the law couldn't touch. He was branded an outlaw, as
I would have been had my identity been discovered before I
had rid the city of the killers of Governor Bronson. Yes,
I was The Copperhead. I am leaving this secret with you
and hope that, should the need ever arise again, you will
have the courage to do the same, although the price may be
high. Remember, only you and I know that The Copperhead
is no outlaw. Father.
