#1001 EP. 3-4.
9. CONTINUED:
PROFESSOR PARKER:
Come over here and I'll show you.
Parker gets up and walks to another bench where he places the
cell. Next to it he places a radio. He places the cell so that
the prongs are pointed at the off/on switch at a few inches
distance.
PROFESSOR PARKER:
This cell uses impulses, rather than connections, to
direct anything. Say, a plane or a car, or anything else.
It's a perfect trigger mechanism, which I'll demonstrate
with this radio.
Parker crosses back to the control panel, Jeff and Joan
following.
10. INSERT: CLOSE
On Parker's hand placing the cell next to the radio. FOR A
LATER CUT the radio clicks on.
11. INT. PARKER'S LAB: CLOSE FULL
Parker at the control panel. He begins to manipulate the
dials.
PROFESSOR PARKER:
Now, watch the radio carefully.
They watch as he turns a dial, then looks O.S. at the radio.
He presses a button and the SOUND of the radio COMES OVER.
PROFESSOR PARKER:
As you can see, Jeff, it works without any actual
connections. It can trigger explosives the same way, and
would be a great advantage in warfare.
JEFF:
You're right, Professor. It's sure an improvement.
Suddenly the control panel makes a BUZZING SOUND.
