                                                    #1001 EP. 3-10.

47. EXT. UNDETERMINED BUILDING #1 (FRONT ENTRANCE): LONG CLOSE
Jeff runs into scene, looks up the steps, then is about to
leave when he glances at something on the steps. He bends
down and picks up a piece of paper. He looks at it, then at
the building, then runs back O.S.

48. INSERT: CLOSE
On the electronics store sales slip in Jeff's hands.

DISSOLVE TO:

49. INT. WAYNE'S OFFICE: CLOSE FULL
Bob is seated at his desk when the phone rings and he answers.

           BOB:

Hello. Jeff! Where are you? The Professor just called
and said you'd taken Joan on an errand which should only
           have taken a half hour.

           JEFF:

Listen! Corey and his men attacked us at the electronics
store. They grabbed Joan and I followed them. I would
have caught 'em, but they cut in front of a train and
ditched me. When I got back on the trail I found the car
parked at the corner of Fountain and Belmont.

           BOB:

Why did you call, instead of using the radio?

           JEFF:

One of their shots must have busted it. Anyway, Joan
dropped her sales slip on the steps of the house where
they took her. It's an old brownstone on the corner.

           BOB:

Okay. Get right back there and I'll meet you in a few
           minutes.

           JEFF:

You'll probably get there ahead of me. I just developed
           a flat.
